Denisha L. Hendricks, Ed.D., serves as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at JCSU. She recently added the title of assistant athletics director for internal operations. Dr. Hendricks brings to the University a wealth of knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, coming from Livingstone College where she served as the SWA and was Dean of the Academic Village. As Senior Woman Administrator, she serves on the senior management team and assists with the administration and governance of the department of athletics.

She holds a B.S. degree in physical education/athletic training from the University of South Carolina. She earned a master's and doctoral degree in higher education administration from Auburn University in 2001 and 2004. In fact, Hendricks was the first African-American female to earn a master's degree in higher education adminstration and the youngest person to earn a doctorate degree in higher education administration at the tender age of 25.

A native of Auburn, Ala., Hendricks is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She is the daughter of Dr. Constance Smith Hendricks, Dean of the School of Nursing at Hampton University, National Director of Z-HOPE and Mr. James L. Hendricks, Jr., retired band director with the Birmingham City Board of Education. Hendricks makes her home in Charlotte, N.C.
