Final Stats

Johnson C. Smith University senior Brittni Dash took first place in the women's long jump with a jump of 5.41 meters to lead her team in the JCSU Track and Field Invitational today at the Irwin Belk Complex.

This meet brought together over 250 student-athletes competing in several events, some even setting automatic qualifiying marks for the upcoming NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships held at JCSU in May. Though JCSU did not have any other number one finishers in the meet, several athletes placed in the top three. Auston Siebles finished third in the triple jump (10.56,) while Demetria Bell finished third in the shot put and discus (10.00m and 24.92m). Bell also placed second in the javelin with a distance of 22.02 meters.

On the men's side, De'Audra Dix won his heat but his time was good enough for a fifth place finish in the 100 meters. Dix ran a 11.01 beating out 30 other competitors. Ty Jordan had a jump of 1.91 meters in the high jump, while placing fourth in the javelin. Coleman McNeill had a throw of 43.98 meters in the men's javelin as well.
