Mark Sherrill begins his 15th season as the top assistant coach for his Alma Mater. In addition to his responsibilities, he is the head coach of the men's cross-country team. A four year letterman, Sherrill completed his basketball career ranking second in JCSU all-time scoring with 2,552 points. He is also currently sixth in the CIAA all-time scoring. He was also recognized as All-CIAA "Rookie of the Year" (89), an All-American and All-CIAA athlete during the 1990-92 seasons. Sherrill's main duties with the team include development of post players, scouting and recruiting. Sherrill has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, is married, and has three children: M.J., Stephen and Stephanie.
