FootballJCSU Announces 2008 Football Pre-Season Camp Schedule

Johnson C. Smith University head football coach Daryl C. McNeill, Sr. will lead the Golden Bulls into the 2008 gridiron season when he welcomes the pre-season camp participants on Tuesday, August 5. The first three days of camp will be spent on paperwork, presentations, physicals, and a host of other team-building activities. The team will finally hit the field on Friday, August 8, at 3:30 pm on the practice field.
"We are excited about starting a new year,” said McNeill. “We felt that during the off-season, we gathered the necessary depth for all of our kids to compete for positions this year.”
Coach McNeill and his staff are expecting about 90 kids to report to camp on Tuesday and are very excited about the added competitive depth.
Per NCAA regulations, the Golden Bulls will practice in only shorts and helmets for the first three days of and will be limited to only single-sessions of work.
The Golden Bulls will be in helmets and shorts for the first three days, followed by two days with shoulder pads. On Wednesday, August 13, the team will be in full pads and will begin the first of five two-a day-practices.
All evening practices will begin at 3:30 pm and last for two hours (5:30 pm). All morning practices start at 8:30 am and will end at 10 am. All practices are open to the public and pre-practice and post-practice are opportune times for media members to conduct interviews with players and coaches.
