Johnson C. Smith University senior wide receiver Marquis Belton (Charlotte, N.C.) was recently named Don Hansen Football Gazette's National Offensive Player of the Week (wide receiver). Johnson C. Smith broke a 24-game losing streak in which Belton had six receptions for 159 yards and one touchdown in the Golden Bulls 19-14 victory in the opener against Edward Waters.

The Golden Bulls will be back in action on Saturday, September 2, 2006 as they travel to Glenville, W.Va. to take on the Pioneers of Glenville State College. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 noon at Morris Stadium.
