Franklin and Wright Named to All-CIAA Football Team



Jeremy Franklin has been named All-CIAA for the second consecutive year

Johnson C. Smith University sophomores Jeremy Franklin (Casselberry, Fla.) and Julius Wright (Fort Worth, Texas) were both named to the All-CIAA Football Team. Franklin made the first team as a wide receiver and Wright the second team as a punter.

Wright, a one-time specialty player of the week, garnered second team all-conference honors after averaging 37.1 yards per punt. Wright also kicked the school's longest field goal of 48 yards against Saint Augustine's College.

Franklin has been named first team All-CIAA for the second consecutive year. He broke the school's record for most receiving yards in a season with 984. He caught 64 passes for 984 yards and nine touchdowns. He led the CIAA in receiving yards (98.4 ypg) and was second in receptions (64) and receptions per game (6.4 rpg).
