Williams and Dix Selected to Participate in East Coast Bowl



Dix was Named CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year

Senior DeAudra Dix, a defensive back, and kick returner for Johnson C. Smith University has been selected to participate in the East Coast All-Star Football game in Petersburg, Virginia, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 12pm.

Dix is a native of Merritt Island where he played high school football at Merritt Island High School. At Johnson C. Smith, Dix was named CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year, and First-Team All-CIAA as both a Kick Returner and Corner Back. He ranks first in CIAA and 3rd in NCAA Division II in kick-returns averaging 31.3 yards per return. He is also ranked 5th in the CIAA in passes defended and 42nd in NCAA Division II.

Senior linebacker Frederick Williams, has also been selected to participate in the East Coast All-Star Football game.

Williams is a native of Tampa, Florida where he played high school football at Jefferson High School. At Johnson C. Smith, Williams leads the CIAA with 94 tackles, 40 solo, 54 assisted, averaging 9.4 per game. He also has 7.0 tackles for a loss of 30 yards, 1.0 sack for a loss of 10 yards, one forced fumble, and two pass break-ups. He is 39th in the country in total tackles with 9.4 a game. Williams was also named First-Team All-CIAA.

The East Coast Bowl is an annual college football All-Star game that features the most elite Division I-FCS, II, III and NAIA college football players from across the United States.
