Dix and Franklin Named to Daktronics All-Southeast Region Football Team

Senior De'Audra Dix (Merritt Island, Fla.), and freshman Jeremy Franklin (Casselberry, Fla.) have been named to the 2007 Daktronics All-Southeast Region second team as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Dix was named to the second team on both sides of the ball as an all-purpose player (offense) and cornerback (defense) for the second consecutive year. He was named CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year and was an All-CIAA first team selection on both offense and defense. The speedster led the conference in kick-off returns aiding his team to a sixth place ranking in all of NCAA Division II in kick returns. Dix was ranked fifth in the nation in kick-off returns averaging 31.3 yards per return. He ends his career with 64 returns for 1,708 yards and three touchdowns. As a corner back, the senior registered 130 total tackles, six tackles for a loss of 19 yards, 13 interceptions for returned for 252 yards, seven blocked kicks, and 33 pass break-ups spanning four years. He becomes the first player in school history to be named all-region on both sides of the ball for two consecutive years.

Franklin was named to the second team for his efforts this season. The CIAA Offensive Rookie of the Year tops the CIAA in receptions (39) and reception yards with an average of 18.9 yards per catch. He had more receiving yards (737) than any other CIAA player and is averaging 73.7 yards per game. A three-time CIAA Receiver of the Week and one-time CIAA Rookie of the Week, Franklin has caught 6 touchdowns this year for JCSU with his longest going for 99 yards on September 22nd versus Saint Augustine's.
