Monica Johnson begins her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Lady Golden Bulls. Johnson is no stranger to Coach Taylor or the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), playing four years under Coach Taylor and receiving a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Elizabeth City State University in May of 2001. A three-sport athlete in basketball, volleyball and softball, Ms. Johnson continues to be active in the sport of softball As a softball player at ECSU, Johnson was awarded many accolades to include: NCAA Division II home run leader and runs batted in (RBI) leader (2000), CIAA All-tournament team (2000), and All-conference (2000-01). Ms. Johnson also received the ECSU Unsung Hero award for her contributions to the basketball team. Johnson's responsibilities include serving as the community service coordinator, practice instructor, administrative assistant, recruiting and any other duties assigned by Coach Taylor.

Johnson's motto is "attitude controls motivation, motivation controls performance, performance controls success and there is no "I" in team." The Durham, NC native resides in Charlotte, N.C.
