Seventh Year Head Coach Named CIAA Coach of the Week for Third Consecutive Week

Vanessa Taylor guided her team to a 2-1 record this week earning her CIAA Coach of the Week Honors

Johnson C. Smith University head women's basketball coach Vanessa Taylor has been named CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Week as announced by the conference office.

Coach Taylor guided her team to a 2-1 record this week with her only loss coming at the hands of Division I Winthrop University. She led her team to wins over Mars Hill and Elizabeth City State to remain undefeated at home and in the CIAA.

This is Taylor's best start since 2004-05. That season the ladies of Brayboy Gym opened up 4-2 before going on a 13-game winning streak earning them national rankings.

The Lady Golden Bulls (6-2) will close out 2007 when they host another Division I opponent in Winston-Salem State University this afternoon at 2 p.m. in Brayboy Gymnasium.
