JCSU Volleyball Thrashes Allen, 3-0

Final Stats

The Johnson C. Smith volleyball team earned their first victory of the season with a 3-0 obliteration of Allen University. Donning new blue uniforms, the Lady Golden Bulls had winning on their mind. JCSU held the Lady Yellow Jackets to single digit scoring as the gold and blue dominated them offensively, 30-9, 30-5, and 30-9. JCSU improves to 1-8 on the year.

The team had a record high 37 service aces led by Y'nique Wright's 13. Freshman Jasmine Oliver had 10 kills on 19 attempts and two solo blocks. Senior Venessa Roy had eight kills and nine service aces.

Next up for JCSU will be the annual volleyball round-up held on the campus of Fayetteville State University on Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16. JCSU will square off against the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University on Saturday at 9:00 am.
