JCSU Volleyball Completes Season Sweep of Shaw, 3-0

Lady Golden Bulls Poised to make Return to CIAA Volleyball Championships

Final Stats

Johnson C. Smith University completed the season sweep over the Lady Bears of Shaw University, three games to none (26-17, 25-23, 25-23).

Mauranda Elliott and Ashley Young-Jones led the way with 10 kills each. They also had eight and six digs respectively. Alexis Webb dished out a match high 17 assists.

Monica Grimmage led the way for the Lady Bears with 10 kills, four service aces and one solo block.

JCSU improves to 8-13 overall, 4-5 in the CIAA and 2-3 in the western division. Shaw drops to 1-14 overall, 0-11 in the CIAA, and 0-6 in the division.

JCSU will take the weekend off before facing the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's College on Monday, October 20, 2008. The match will start at 6 p.m. in Brayboy Gymnasium.
