JCSU Defeats Morris in Volleyball Action, 3-2



Freshman Alexis Webb dished out a career high 33 assists in the victory

Johnson C. Smith University hosted just their second home volleyball match of the season and completed the season sweep of Morris College 3-2. Set scores were 27-25, 25-14, 17-25, 21-25, 15-7. The win improves JCSU to 4-10 overall while Morris College drops to 2-7.

After winning the first two sets, the ladies of JCSU got a little ahead of themselves and allowed the Lady Hornets to win the next two sets. The got it together in the fifth and final set and recorded the all important victory.

Ashley Young-Jones (Asheville, N.C.) continued her balanced offensive and defensive prowess by recording a season high 25 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Alexis Webb (Durham, N.C.) helped out tremendously by dishing out 33 assists.

JCSU will move travel to Raleigh, NC to take on the Saint Augustine's College Falcons on October 1.
